Under Construction (expect delays)
This is going to come as a surprise to my regular readers (because I've made no reference to it in the past) but last week I underwent extensive reconstructive surgery on my stomach, arms and breasts as the next step in transforming my body from the sloth that it used to be to the fierce athletic person that I want to become. There is no doubt... skin is elastic and I shrunk on my own... but everything has it's limits. When you lose over a 100 pounds... there is only so much shrinkage that can occur naturally and the rest needs to be removed surgically.
All accounts from the surgeon and staff... the operation I had last week was a huge success. They said because of my fitness level, that I would be expected to recover quickly. Today I went for my one week check-up and I'm way ahead of what they expected. What can I say... I'm a healing machine! I'm feeling fabulous... removing the excess skin from my former self... I'm no longer going to be uncomfortable and inhibited by certain exercises!
Today I laid in my bed... bandaged up like a mummy and listening to my running music... tapping my feet to the beats and wishing I was running the trails.
I suspect I'll be out of commission for the next couple of months so my blog notes will be more reflective in nature since I'm bored from being in bed... but I know it will help me recover... so I'm doing it!
Drum roll... keep in mind... I'm somehwat bound in this picture (I still do have boobs... 36D bra... they just are swaddled right now)... I'm now a size 12 (will be size 10 by the time the swelling is down), 174 pounds... and yes I'm aware my hair is a mess in this photo but people come on now... I've been in bed for a week:

For those of you not familiar what started this transformation... below is a photo of me at 37 weeks pregnant with twins (Jeremy: 7.1lbs and Nathan: 8.1lbs) four 1/2 years ago:
