it's all good baby baby!

I'm now 2 weeks post surgery... a lot of the swelling has gone down but I'm still not close to attempting to exercise (probably a couple weeks or a month away from running). I pretty much can do everything else now... just slowly.

How do I pass the time? Well I sleep, watch tv, write, stand in the mirror in awe of the fact that I can see my abs... whatever will pass the time.

I'm still strapped like a freakin' mummy on my arms, chest and stomach 24 hours a day (I'm allowed to take it off for one 15 minute break after my shower)... another couple weeks of it... but oh well all for the greater good. I've actually gotten used to being bound now (and kind of like it)!

The last 2 weeks I've pretty much been horizontal! Lots of friends have come to visit, brought me food, lending me dvds, sending me emails, phoning me and of course making me laugh (which at times hurt but was worth it regardless)... having people visit definitely has helped to break up the boredom of recovery. Thanks to everyone that made an effort... I certainly felt the love! My parents and Gord have been invaluable in my recovery process, basically covering all my daily responsibilities other than breathing and eating! That's helped a lot. Of course I can't forget my friend and nurse... (Lauren) who visits me regularly to make sure I'm healing well, always makes me laugh, and of course inflicts pain on me by taking my bandages off (I think she enjoys that part)!

I miss working out like crazy!!! Tonight I plan on going to visit my booty sistas and Devin at bootcamp... unfortunately I'll live vicariously through them until mid summer.

The hardest part of this process has been the boredom. I'm always so busy and on the go... it's required serious willpower to lay low for the last two weeks.

I spend most of my day in sweats... today I was venturing out to the doctors and then to visit Sarah at Cabin Coffee... so I got dressed... this is a photo of me as of today. I'm still in shock that I can sport "low-rise" pants now. I'm seriously living the dream! LOL!
