the landings surgical centre
A number of people have sent me private messages inquiring as to where I had my reconstructive surgery performed and if I'd recommend the surgeon.I could not have asked for a better experience with my surgery. Though I qualified to go through the public route of having MSI cover my surgery, my husband and I made the decision that it wouldn't be fair after all my hard work to wait years to get an operation date. We also agreed it would be much more likely for me to "stay on track" if the excess skin (especially my stomach skin stretched from the pregnancy of the twins) was removed shortly after the weight loss since it was impending on some of my physical activities and made me feel uncomfortable.
Last year, we agreed that once I lost the 100 pounds, that I would consult a private surgical centre and set a date. When we made the decision that I would undergo surgery in a private clinic, I first consulted my family doctor. She was in complete support of me going for surgery and recommended Dr. Richard Bendor-Samuel. In March, I went to The Landings Surgical Centre for a consultation. When I went to The Landings, I was treated with the utmost of respect and discretion. All of their staff were professional and friendly. After visiting their private surgical centre and meeting their surgical team, it was obvious they took great time and effort in selecting a group of professionals that have the skill, experience and knowledge to give people fabulous results.
After I met with Dr. Bendor-Samuel, I did research online about the private surgical centre and the surgeon. I also spoke to close friends who had surgical procedures done before. It turned out that I knew at least a half dozen people who had been patients at The Landings Surgical Centre and everyone I spoke to said their outcomes were better than they ever expected. Not one person had anything negative to say... not one!
I'm only 1 week post-op and I couldn't be happier that I had this operation. The last two years have been a lot of work to lose the weight. It was a big decision for my husband and I to make this sort of investment in my health and well-being but both of us agree it was worth it... I can only imagine once I'm fully recovered and able to exercise again what a difference it's going to make on my personal life and performance as an athlete.
If you are considering a surgery and want to ask more details about my experience then please send me an email. I'd be more than happy to answer your questions. It's because of my friends openness and honesty that I chose to use the The Landings Surgical Centre... seems only fair that I do the same for others.
As always, I'm not being paid to plug this private surgical centre... just like any other product or service review you will read about on my blog... if I like something then I like other's to know! Give props where props are due!

Every time I blog, I get a number of private personal messages from close friends, people I barely know and sometimes even strangers... telling me how refreshing it is to hear from a "real person" what this weight loss journey has been like. Most people tell me how rare it is for people to open themselves up like this, but I think if I didn't there wouldn't be much point in writing about it. I appreciate your support and hearing from people like you. Your recognition and acknowledgement that I'm exposing a private part of my life and enlightening others makes me forge ahead and continue.
