Mondays Suck!

This morning I was so not "feeling it"... the fact that I stepped in dog crap during the first lap of my run was overwhelmingly symbolic of how I was feeling.

We had a busy weekend with the boys (family trip to a New Brunswick amusement park). Bad food, sleep deprivation, a long car ride and go go going for 48 hours straight with two 4 year olds zonked me. Last night I tried to get to bed early... but still I felt hung-over this morning (not from alcohol though). This morning the dudes were whiny and so were Mommy & Daddy. But... as always... by the time I was done my 5km run... I couldn't have been happier that the sun was shining, the air was crisp on my lungs and the adrenaline shooting through my body had turned my day around... and that my friends... is why I run.

I'm at the point now where Monday to Friday there is absolutely no question, before I start my workday... I exercise. It doesn't matter how blah you are feeling, it changes your entire outlook on the day. I do have the luxury of working for myself and dictating when my workday starts... but even if you have to get up at 5:30am... then do it... it's well worth it to have this type of feeling first thing in the morning.
