1/2 Pint
I'm all about nicknames... most of my close friends have them (each nickname has a meaning or a story behind it). My trainer (Devin) is always coming up with new nicknames for the girls at bootcamp! A couple weeks ago I told Devin that I'd prefer he start referring to me as "1/2 Pint" because it represents my new weight loss goal of reducing my body weight in half. Devin still insists on calling me MK (I'm not sure why)... though my friend Scott suggested MK47 on the weekend... I'm sorta lovin' that one (which is a surprise because normally I disagree with Scott (aka SNEIL) on almost everything - maybe our relationship has turned a corner)! LOL!Initially, when I started working out with Devin I had the goal of loosing 75lbs... when I lost that... my goal then moved to 100lbs. Once I lost 100 pounds... my body still wasn't as small as I thought it would be so now I made a new goal to reduce my weight in half! When I reach my "1/2 Pint" goal... I will almost be the same weight as my trainer Gina (and she's ripped)!
This morning a wonderful family friend (Janice aka Jan-ICE) told me about an article in our local paper where a man in Newfoundland lost 1/2 his body weight... and did it the smart way (through healthy eating and exercise)! He is living proof that I can easily lose 1/2 my weight... because he's already lost almost double what I want to lose!

Today I'm giving props to the Chronicle Herald and Corner Brook Western Star for publishing such an amazing story (and the fabulous photo too). I don't know this amazing Newfie... but dude... I was in shock when I read the story and if your goal was to inspire only 1 person you already achieved it with me so I can just imagine everyone around you! It really is amazing what people can achieve when they set their mind to it.
By the end of summer... I hope I'll be in the same boat as this guy... and reading this story has given me that extra bounce in my step and encouragement that I needed.
