Runners high... oh how I missed you! Let me count the ways!

This is what I'll look like by the end of summer in my Lululemon gear!
Last night some of the pyrometrics and higher impact hip moves in bootcamp were not "doable" with my injury. I felt sharp pain on some exercises, so Devin suggested I do a modified bootcamp for any exercise that could agitate my hip. He was great... he even had the class do their sprints running backwards so I could participate... for some reason I can run backwards... I just can't run forward without pain! Go figure!
This morning I dropped off the kids 20 minutes early at daycare... I didn't want to be too early for my training session with Gina at 9am because I know she has to get her son off to school etc. So I decided to go for a 20 minute walk on the boardwalk before my weight training... this is my old stomping grounds for jogging with Kelly. I got out of the car... put on my favorite beats... and walked a lap... the crisp cold air felt great on my lungs, the birds were fluttering around, the sun was shining down on my face... and as per usual... people were walking their stupid dogs that all insist at barking and lunging at me as I cruise past them... but that didn't even bother me today (even though it was a German Sheppard - yikes that's worse then Rotties for me).
All of a sudden my favorite workout song came on (by Dr Dre & Snoop)... I couldn't resist... I had to start jogging and it felt AMAZING. I went slow... I could feel some slight discomfort in my hip but not sharp pain... I was aware of my injury but I didn't feel like I was pushing it too hard. I ran the full lap which is about 3/4 of a kilometer with a smile on my face the entire time. At the end of the lap I wasn't even winded!!! I could have easily ran my normal 5kms today... probably without stopping for a break. I did a cool down lap of walking and then jumped in my car to make my training appointment with Gina... grinning ear-to-ear the entire time!
This weekend I'm showing my booty sista Kim the beauty of interval running... I can't wait... I know she's going to experience amazing results in weight loss from starting to jog and I look forward to such a good friend learning to become an athlete by pushing her limits.
A couple weeks ago... I was getting a massage from one of my clients (Paullette at Natural Path)... and she suggested I start thinking more like an athlete and having ice packs ready for post-workout issues... it really got me to thinking... maybe I am becoming an athlete... actually... she's right... I AM AN ATHLETE *sweeeeeeeeet*... I can now wear Underamour and Nike gear without looking like a total poser!
I'm back baby... CHECK IT OUT!

You rock girl - and even if it rains, I still think I wanna run this weekend. You got me all pumped up - I can't wait!!!!!!!!!
