Shrinkage (it's not always a bad thing)...
Normally... I only step on the scale once a month... but 2 weeks ago I was only 1.5 lbs away from loosing the 30lbs I had gained back after my neck injury in 2007... well this Saturday... I jumped on the scale and those 30lbs are now GONE! I needed to reward myself somehow... and no it wasn't with ice cream or pasta... I wanted new clothes! I've managed to go down 6 sizes since August... (I'm telling you it's the running - it makes more lean muscles - it's crazy)... why I still have these larger clothes in my closet I'm not sure... mostly finances... but the clothes look ridiculous on me. Anyway... even though I knew it would rack up my credit card... I went on a shopping spree at Old Navy. I geared myself up with some new jeans, new shirts, sweaters, bras, panties, a winter jacket... the works. For those girls out there who have been limited to plus size clothes like I have for years... if you've ever managed to squeeze your cheeks into a pair of "regular jeans" it's like visiting Mecca (just with less virgins around)! I not only fit in the jeans at Old Navy, but they were loose! For the people who have never had this problem... you just won't get it... but trust me... it's a HUGE DEAL (pun intended).
For some reason... even though I donated all my plus-size clothes this weekend to charity... I kept my plus-size work-out clothes... but today... when I was running an interval... I literally almost ran out of my sweat pants... they were so low that ½ my ass was showing by the end of my running segment... so I decided... it was time to splurge on some new workout clothes today. I went to the sports store to get some Underamour gear... I saw this pink zip up hoodie... it was awesome... but to my disappointment they only had it in size Large... I sighed... then I decided for the heck of it to try it on... to my surprise IT FIT! So of course... I bought it! I LOVE PINK! I then got a bunch of pants and plan on retiring the other ones tonight.
I want to send a big thank you to everyone who's been supporting me and offering words of encouragement... it feels great when I run into people and they notice the difference in my appearance... I can't wait for my parents to come home from Florida at Christmas... I know they'll be shocked. Also, for those of you sending me messages or showing up to Devin's bootcamp and telling me you had to try it after reading my blogs... it's such a great feeling to know people are actually reading these notes and it's making a positive difference in your life! Though I've been defined as a "funny girl" or "party girl" my entire life... being told I've been "inspirational" is a big pill to swallow but I'm pretty sure my ego can handle the stroking!
Though I still have more weight to loose... getting that 30lbs off was a major milestone for me... I'm back at square one... and plan to keep shrinking.

Way to go, Michelle! Keep at it...it's such an accomplishment!
