My Solo Mission
Like most things in life... you can usually "get the job done" by yourself but there is no question that it's more enjoyable with someone else.
This week my fearless interval training partner (Kelly) is on vacation with her family. That means I have 3 intervals to do by myself. Today I finished the first one.
I was proud of myself for still going at 8:30am... but honestly it wasn't the same without her. I still jogged on the right side of the boardwalk as if she was the phantom jogger on my left side... I noticed on the first lap the last 15 seconds of my jogging interval I started slowing down... when normally the pace of Kelly's jog keeps me going consist for the entire time... I tried my best to keep the steady pace by myself but it’s surprising how much easier it is with someone else next to you.
It felt great after I was done... the adrenaline was flowing but also the pride that I went and did it even though I was alone not only surprised me but made me feel good that I was making a positive change in my life. Don't get me wrong... I probably wouldn't do intervals by myself long term... it would be too boring and lonely... but I think I can manage another 2 sessions by myself.
Last week I made a revelation that I need to exercise everyday otherwise I become complacent... this week my revelation is... workouts are better with a buddy… it's fun to share the accomplishment with someone else and much easier to get the workout done knowing someone is relying on you to show up.

You did great! I am also proud of you for getting out there! I can't wait to continue with you when I get back!
