Fitness Regime

I've been quiet lately about my fitness regime and people have starting to ask me on facebook or email if I've fallen off the wagon (AGAIN). No, actually I haven't quit... I'm just so freakin' busy exercising I don't get much time to write about much other than changing my facebook status. I've lost about 20lbs since August and my butt is looking better than it ever has! If I had known jogging would do this to my rear-end... I would have started jogging in junior high! I've concluded Beyonce and J-Lo must jog.

I've always vowed I wouldn't jog. My excuses were...

1) it's hard on the female productive system,
2) bouncing boobs will make my boobs even lower than nursing twins for 1 year did,
3) and I've heard of people dropping dead during a jog.

Then I started thinking about my excuses and if they were even valid... I'm not having more kids so I don't really care if my ovaries get shook up, I can wear a good bra to keep the bounce to a minimum, and people also drop dead from not jogging... obviously my my excuses were all lame.

Here's the regime I've been doing for awhile now:

Mon - Fri Mornings (5 days a week) - Interval Training with Kelly (jogging/walking) for 40 mins first thing in the morning - 4km

Mon Night - One-on-One Training with Devin (1 hr)

Wed + Fri Night - Go to Devin's Bootcamp (1 hr each night)

Interval training in the morning has become addictive. The first time we tried to run (back in August - running 1 minute and walking 1 minute was a killer... now I can manage to run about 5 mins straight without dieing). Though we've chosen to run about 2-2.5 mins and then walking 1-2 mins instead of going for endurance. For us, the goal isn't to run long distance or participate in marathons, it is to spike our heart-rates and then recover fast then spike it again.

My newest addiction is my heart rate monitor watch. I can't believe in the last month how much my heart rate has improved (this is important to me seeing as my Dad (who I seem to be the genetic clone of) has a heart condition. My resting heart rate used to be 69 (good number *smiles*)...now it's normally around 54! My recovery during interval is usually about 30-40 beats but I'd like to see it a bit better and I'm sure it eventually will be.

There really isn't much to report other than people who run into me can't believe the difference in my appearance in the last month... it feels great when people notice (so keep the compliments coming). I'm still 10lbs heavier than I was when I got hurt last year at the gym but I seem to have more lean muscles this time... I'm trying not to obsess about the scale... but it's hard... before I know it I'll be back down to last year's fighting weight and then I'll feel like I'm starting at square one with the goal of loosing another 30lbs.
